SUMMARY
This suggests that once space based manufacturing and processing is established in habi-craft colonies, specific processes and products will benefit and demonstrate advantages both in cost and specialized function over similar products manufactured on Earth. Electronics seems to be an area that should leapfrog ahead quickly.

It’s interesting to note that some specialized functions available under space related conditions (cold, vacuum, zero/micro-G) are likely to not exhibit the same functionality back on Earth. Both technology and culture in space will eventually take off in new directions that are different from Earth and perhaps somewhat exclusionary.

With a specific advantage based in electronic components, an edge in computation ability and availability is likely to develop. This is likely to develop a sympathetic surge in software development and programming capability. A pronounced lead in both hardware and software will develop both a faster rate of change and lead to new directions in culture and society.
