1969 – Apollo 11 lands on the Moon

Apollo 11 carried the first humans to land on the Moon. In 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped out of the lunar landing module and walked on the surface of the Moon, while Michael Collins stayed in the Command module in orbit above.
